Collaboration 3 - Handmade by Blossom & The Word Korner

Two different kinds of creativity combined.... craft and word... Handmade by Blossom & The Word

Handmade by Blossom & The Word Korner decided to do Mother's Day cards for their collaboration because of how close Mother's Day is  (May 12th 2015).  here are the lyrics from the poems

Dear mommy I want you to know that you’re appreciated
Not only on Mother’s day when usually this appreciation is demonstrated
But all the days that has to come or has gone
In my life you will always be number one
Because we all know the sacrifices a mother makes
She still keeps a smile when her heart aches
So for that you deserve all the happiness and affection
No one is allowed to tarnish that, not under my protection
So on that note I would love to wish you Happy Mother‘s Day
Today and every other day

They say that superheroes don’t exist
But they never met my mother
They never felt her kiss
And how it could heal whatever
How she would know when something is wrong
My mother always turns my frown upside down
She is definitely extraordinary
And I want her to know that I will love her eternally
I am indeed very lucky
Happy Mother’s Day
Thank you for loving me

COSTAATT - the reason for my lack of blogging...

Foolish me!!!!
So in order to hook up a Blogger account I needed a gmail account so instead of creating a new email address I decided to use my COSTAATT email... BAD IDEA... I couldn't sign into my blog, apparently none of the web browsers recognised the sign in for COSTAATT's email ... This annoyed me...
So I wrote a poem about it..

***** Frustrated*****

The only time I got to post on my blog is using the work computer which is prohibited

Collaboration 2 - TRINIADCRITIC & The Word Korner

We looked at a Mercedes-AMG G  ad
The car will be on the market in Spring 2015.
It is described as the world's next great sports car and is bragged about for its design and dynamics.

Mercedes AMG used a poem for the voice over of the ad.

Here is the poem they used...

Oh the message it will send
The debates it will end
The records it will destroy
The fame it will enjoy
The thrones it will vacate
The egos it will deflate
The best machine will win
So let the fun begin

As we discussed in my earlier posts there are different types of poetry and this ad used the basic rhyming poem (Sonnet). Does it get the message across? Yes..
I have respect for poets who can rhyme their words and  get the message across and Mercedes did just that.

Would you think of something like poetry to be the voice over for a sports car? Not really her but its impactful...

for me the most powerful line in the poem is “all the ego’s we will deflate, the best machine will win

So let the fun begin” Mercedes referring to the  one of it's biggest competitors the Porsche 911.

(you see I did my research, lol)

Here is what TRINIADCRITIC had to say about the Ad

First thing first, what is this poem saying about the car?
"Basically this is the message being sent: This car is going to send a message so clear it will end any arguments out there about whether or not it is the best. As a car that’s built for speed one can expect it to break records and enjoy the fame that would come along with it" - TRINIADCRITIC blogger

Collaboration 1 - Lezline & The Word Korner

"What I understood from it is, people's opinion on a person's sexual orientation should not matter as long as they are satisfied with who they are, live for yourself be free because your happiness is up to you and by hiding that person it will do more harm than good, so embrace your identity" - Lezline Blogger

That is what Lezline's blogger (Judine Ryan) thought about my poem, in order for me to do this poem I had to interview Judine on some of the drawbacks about coming out and also read her blog. Some of my favourite post from her blog Lezline are:

  • Is it real or a fantasy?
  • Empty closet vs. Full closet
  • Date... at your own risk
However I wanted to write my poem about being gay and the drawbacks about coming out...
This is what I came up with

I’m coming out; I want the world to know got to let it show
♪ ♫

No,it’s not that easy, am I really ready to admit my sexuality and get omitted by
my friends and family.
You see coming out is not a fantasy, My story is different from Ellen and Portia De
La Rossi, coming out for me is not going to be easy.

I could hear my mother now, child you need a good praying, No family of mine is
gay, the devil have you mind straying..

Or the disapproving looks I will get from my other family members and how the
community will finally get validation for the rumours.

’m I really ready to deal with the giggles pointing and whispers?
Hummm, so long I’ve held this secret, but it gets easier to keep it, at times I Just
forget about it and a few times I believe I lost it way in the back of my
closet.

But when I remembered it

I asked myself, is being a lesbian really the worst thing that can happen in this
world? Is it so bad if love decides to choose the hearts of two girls?

Is it so bad to be joined in holy matrimony and raise a family even though our
love is taboo in society?

Why would you judge me, isn’t our main goal in life to be truly happy?
I would love to proudly preach my lesbianity

Bask in all HER glory

Sing, I’m coming out I want the world to know
But I can’t let it show…
